Blue Trumpet Group is led by Sharon Barclay, and augmented by a select list of highly-experienced specialists around the country that are engaged on an ‘as needed’ basis.  This approach means better efficiency, greater value for money and more flexibility.


Sharon has two decades of public relations experience across three continents, both agency and in-house.  She specializes in technology, executive visibility, business-to-business and consumer technologies.  Over the years she’s worked for clients from start-ups to Fortune 500s such as: HP, Compaq, Computer Associates, Intel, Motorola, Samsung, Airvana, DriverSide, 1&1 Internet, Ziggs, Deloitte, NaviSite, Xircom, Blackhawk Network, and eCoupled.

In 2003, Sharon was part of the team that worked on the PR strategy and execution for the Compaq/HP merger – the largest IT merger in history.  While working in the UK she launched the Pentium Pro microprocessor, the Pentium II chip, OverDrive processors, and MMX technology for Intel.

Sharon created 8-Minute PR, a concept similar to Speed Dating that brings together media and executives for an evening of networking, where discussions are limited to eight minutes.  She has won multiple awards including PR Week’s PR Innovation of the Year award in 2005, the Communicator Award and a finalist in the American Business Awards for

Sharon has been on numerous panels and has been a regular guest speaker at Emerson College, lecturing both graduate and under-graduate PR and communications students in the reality of public relations.  She has also spoken at Amherst College, The Academy of Art University, Assumption College, Ragan’s Annual Strategic Public Relations conference, the Baystate Technology Alliance, VentureOne Exchange, Wireless Arena and was featured on Voice America’s “Stars of PR”.
